Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1

What services does InfluenceOfYour7 offer?

Accepted Answer

InfluenceOfYour7 offers four core services: the ATS Resume Review ($90), the IO7 Career Report ($175), a one-on-one Recruiter Consultation, and Executive Placement. Each is designed for experienced professionals who want honest, industry-specific career intelligence rather than generic advice.

Question 2

What is an ATS Resume Review and what does it cost?

Accepted Answer

The ATS Resume Review ($90) is a line-by-line analysis of your resume scored against the actual criteria that Applicant Tracking Systems and hiring managers use in your specific industry. You receive a written report identifying keyword gaps, formatting issues, and specific recommendations to improve your score before your resume reaches a human reviewer.

Question 3

What is the IO7 Career Report?

Accepted Answer

The IO7 Career Report ($175) is a comprehensive career intelligence document that maps your experience, skills, and market positioning against the seven factors that most influence hiring decisions in your vertical. It gives you a clear picture of where you stand in your market and what moves will have the most impact on your next opportunity.

Question 4

What happens during a Recruiter Consultation?

Accepted Answer

A Recruiter Consultation is a direct, one-on-one session with Senior Recruiting Partner Pete Proctor. You get honest feedback on your market position, compensation expectations, resume presentation, and job search strategy — the same perspective a hiring manager or recruiter would have, without the filter.

Question 5

How does Executive Placement work?

Accepted Answer

Executive Placement is a full-cycle search and placement service for senior-level professionals. Pete Proctor works directly with employers across his eight specialized verticals to match qualified candidates with the right opportunities. There is no fee to candidates — placement fees are paid by the hiring company.

Question 6

How long does it take to receive my ATS Review or IO7 Report?

Accepted Answer

Turnaround time is typically 3–5 business days after you submit your resume and complete intake information. Pete reviews every submission personally, so you receive a thoughtful, industry-specific analysis rather than an automated output.

Question 7

Which industries does InfluenceOfYour7 specialize in?

Accepted Answer

InfluenceOfYour7 specializes in eight industry verticals: HOA & property management, oil & gas, medical careers, commercial construction, accounting & finance, commercial lines insurance, personal lines insurance, and restaurant & hospitality. Each vertical has its own dedicated hub with industry-specific career resources, legal references, and recruiting intelligence.

Question 8

Why does InfluenceOfYour7 focus on specific verticals instead of all industries?

Accepted Answer

Vertical specialization is the entire point. Hiring managers in oil & gas think differently than those in HOA management. ATS systems in healthcare are configured differently than those in construction. Generic career advice ignores these differences. InfluenceOfYour7 was built to give professionals the same insider knowledge that recruiters who live in these verticals use every day.

Question 9

What resources are available for HOA & property management professionals?

Accepted Answer

The HOA & Property Management vertical hub includes career articles specific to the industry, plain-language summaries of relevant Texas Property Code chapters (including Chapters 81, 82, 202, 204, 207, and 209), a newsletter for HOA professionals, and direct access to Pete Proctor's recruiting services for this sector.

Question 10

Do you work with professionals in oil & gas, even with market volatility?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Oil & gas is one of the most active verticals in the Houston market, and experienced professionals in this sector face unique challenges — commodity cycles, project-based employment, and highly specialized skill sets. InfluenceOfYour7 provides career intelligence tailored to these realities, not generic job search advice.

Question 11

I work in medical careers. How is InfluenceOfYour7 relevant to me?

Accepted Answer

The medical careers vertical covers non-clinical healthcare roles — medical sales, healthcare administration, practice management, and clinical operations. Pete Proctor has placed professionals across these roles in the Houston and Texas markets. The ATS Review and IO7 Report are calibrated to the specific hiring criteria used by healthcare employers.

Question 12

Who is Pete Proctor?

Accepted Answer

Pete Proctor is the Senior Recruiting Partner behind InfluenceOfYour7 and the founder of Sublime Personnel. He has 20+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience across eight specialized industries in the Houston, Texas market. He built InfluenceOfYour7 to give experienced professionals the same insider career intelligence that hiring managers and recruiters use every day.

Question 13

Is InfluenceOfYour7 a staffing agency or a career coaching service?

Accepted Answer

It is both, depending on what you need. The ATS Review, IO7 Report, and Recruiter Consultation are career intelligence services — you pay for expert analysis and advice. Executive Placement is a traditional recruiting service where Pete works to place you with an employer. The two sides of the business are designed to work together: better-prepared candidates get placed faster.

Question 14

How is this different from using a free resume tool or AI resume checker?

Accepted Answer

Free tools and AI checkers score your resume against generic criteria. InfluenceOfYour7 scores your resume against the specific criteria used by hiring managers and ATS systems in your industry vertical. The difference is the same as getting a generic health checkup versus seeing a specialist — the specialist knows what to look for in your specific situation.

Question 15

What should I have ready before getting started?

Accepted Answer

For the ATS Resume Review or IO7 Report, have your current resume in PDF or Word format and a clear sense of the role type and industry vertical you are targeting. For a Recruiter Consultation, think through your current situation, compensation expectations, and what kind of move you are looking to make. The more specific you are, the more useful the session will be.

Question 16

Do you offer refunds?

Accepted Answer

Because each service involves Pete Proctor's personal time and analysis, refunds are not offered once work has begun. If you have a concern about your deliverable, contact us directly — Pete stands behind the quality of every report and consultation.

Question 17

Does InfluenceOfYour7 serve professionals outside of Texas?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The ATS Resume Review, IO7 Career Report, and Recruiter Consultation are available to professionals nationwide. Executive Placement is primarily focused on Texas and the broader Gulf Coast region, where Pete Proctor has the deepest employer relationships.

Question 18

I am in Houston. Can I meet with Pete in person?

Accepted Answer

In-person consultations in the Houston area can be arranged. Most consultations are conducted via video call for convenience, but if you prefer to meet face-to-face, contact us to schedule.

Question 19

What makes Houston a unique job market for the industries you cover?

Accepted Answer

Houston is the energy capital of the world, a major medical center, one of the fastest-growing construction markets in the US, and home to a large and complex HOA management sector. The city's industry concentration means that vertical-specific career intelligence matters more here than in most markets — and that Pete Proctor's 20+ years of Houston-specific relationships translate directly into better outcomes for candidates.
